Word Hero Chapter Twelve
In Word Hero I show how to personify a proposal by using an acronym. The technique really works. But there's a shortcut as well.
Take an idea or product. Give it a suitable name. Now take the first three letters of that name and find descriptive terms that begin with the same letters.
For instance, suppose you happen to play the trumpet. You fondly call it "Blat." Now justify the name with an acronym. (Use Thesaurus.com for help.) When people ask why you call your trumpet "Blat" (other than the obvious reasons, I mean), you can say it's an acronym for Brass Latitudinal Accessory for Tonality.
Yeah, that makes little sense. But acronyms rarely do. They're just fun, can get a laugh, and exercise your wit muscles. That's reason enough.
